McLaren F1 - The Inside Story

A tribute to the iconic McLaren F1 and its mastermind - Gordon Murray.

The McLaren F1 is considered the ultimate road car; it was the first million-dollar sports car, it immediately became the world’s fastest production car and with it, McLaren became and remain the first and only manufacturer to win Le Mans on their first attempt.

Rarely do people go beyond these headlines and reveal the level of detail that went into the F1's creation; its many other racing successes, its pioneering and innovative technology and the uncompromising approach that was taken by Gordon Murray in its design and development.

This feature will tell the story of Gordon Murray’s vision, explore his philosophy and reveal the many other extraordinary details that make up the McLaren F1.

Murray says, “I’m honoured and excited to be a part of The London Classic Car Show and am looking forward to celebrating the car as a whole. People are aware of the headlines but the car is much deeper than that and this exhibit will offer people the opportunity to get a unique insight into the car, what it stands for and the story behind how it was created.”
